School Based Apprentices/Trainees can start their career in their senior school years…
- The new apprentice/trainee would work with the Host Employer for 1 day per week during school term, and extra days in the school holidays over Year 11 and 12 (minimum number of working days = 100, but can be up to 180 depending on trade)
- The apprentice/trainee would attend a registered training organisation (RTO) such as TAFE, one day per week and attend school 3 days per week to complete the subjects required for their HSC
School Based Trainee (2 year commitment)
- OPTION to continue the trainee’s studies by entering another Training Contract to complete a traineeship with a higher qualification
- OPTION to employ the trainee as an experienced staff member with a nationally recognised qualification and HSC
- OPTION to convert the traineeship into a full time apprenticeship (depending on trade)
School Based Apprentice (5 year commitment)
- The School Based Apprentice would work for you 1 day per week during years 11 and 12 at school, and then convert to a full time apprentice for a further three years, attending their RTO to complete Stages 2 and 3 (either 1 day per week or block release, depending on trade)
- Once the apprenticeship is completed, an OPTION of employing the newly qualified tradesperson
